Camden Daly is a music director and composer from the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the past several years, Camden has made a name for himself within the musical theatre world. Since his start as a music director, he has music directed and conducted shows with dozens of theatre companies across the country. Some of these companies include CYT: Tri-Valley, Berkeley Playhouse, Tomorrow Youth Repertory, Constellation Stage and Screen, and TMC Arts. He is currently attending Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana for a master’s degree in Music Scoring for Visual Media.
Camden first made his start in the music scene in 2017, working in his first musical theater production at Chanticleers Theater in Castro Valley, California. He then went to California State University, Monterey Bay for his undergraduate studies, and majored in Music - Recording Technology with a minor in Mathematics. While studying in Monterey, Camden was immersed in ensemble performance and vocal accompaniment. He spent many hours as a pianist and keyboardist in the CSUMB Latin Jazz Band Sharp Nine. It was there he met adjunct faculty member Aimee Puentes, who was a great influence on Camden’s teaching style and career path. With Aimee, he was able to accompany numerous vocal lessons and musical theatre productions around Monterey Bay.
After graduating from CSUMB in 2021, Camden music directed his first musical theatre production through CYT: Tri-Valley. He was referred to CYT to music direct a production of High School Musical: On Stage. In the two years between his undergrad and graduate studies, he was busy working all over the Bay Area. Camden has developed a strong work ethic, and an ability to work multiple shows at once. This has allowed him to work under very tight timetables, as well as being able to jump into shows at the last minute. Some of his favorite productions include The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Urinetown, Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief Musical, and Beauty and the Beast. A few of Camden’s upcoming productions include Catch Me If You Can, and Heathers: The Musical.
Camden is also embracing another element of the music world as a film composer. During lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he discovered his calling as a composer for film and television while at CSUMB. He spent his downtime during the pandemic studying film music and practicing mocking up orchestral music. This led him to apply for a master’s program in film music, of which he is a recent graduate. Most recently, he attended the Jacobs in LA program, and studied scoring for Episodic TV for two months. Camden graduated in August of 2025 with his Master’s Degree in Film Scoring.
